Bird Brain

Huckerby & Ostler have adapted the comic novel Bird Brain by Guy Kennaway into an animated feature, which will be the first made by a new joint venture between Cantilever Media (The Amazing Maurice) and sales & financing outfit, Architect. The Bird Brain film, like the book, will follow Basil “Banger” Peyton-Crumbe, a crusty British aristocrat obsessed with game hunting. After a hunting accident, he awakes to find himself transformed into a pheasant, meaning he must band together with his previous prey to survive.

Huckerby & Ostler are currently developing a live action, British comedy based on an incredible true story, co-written with Ben Ward, multi-award-winning head writer of Horrible Histories. More news soon!

Huckerby & Ostler provided additional material for Sky Cinema’s new Christmas classic TINSEL TOWN starring Kiefer Sutherland, Rebel Wilson & Danny Dyer. Directed by Chris Foggin (FISHERMAN’S FRIENDS, BANK OF DAVE).

GROW, a family comedy feature scripted by Mark Huckerby & Nick Ostler for Sky Originals & Double Nickel Entertainment is out now on Sky Cinema and at selected theatres. Starring Golda Rosheuvel, Nick Frost, Joe Wilkinson & Jane Horrocks, directed by John McPhail, Grow is set in the fictional ‘pumpkin-growing capital’ of England. Read more.

THE CAT BURGLARS

A hilarious animated comedy heist movie, written by Huckerby & Ostler with Academy Award-winning director Steve Box (WALLACE & GROMIT: CURSE OF THE WERERABBIT). The movie about a rag-tag gang of stray cats who go undercover as pampered pets to pull of their biggest job yet is currently in turnaround – enquiries to Clement Calvet at Superprod Films, Paris.
